How to Create and Configure Upsells with Releasit Bundles

Releasit Bundles allows you to create Upsells that appear directly on your product page. When a customer views a product, the upsell widget suggests related products they can add to their order — helping you increase AOV without interrupting the buying experience.

Step 1 – Open the Upsells Section

• Open the Releasit Bundles app from your Shopify admin.
• Click Upsells in the left menu.

• Click + Create Upsell.

Step 2 – Configure your new Upsell

Here you can:

• Add the Upsell Name 
• Select the Trigger Product

⚠️ Each upsell is linked to one trigger product. If you want the same upsell to appear on multiple products, create a separate upsell for each one.

Step 3 – Add Upsell Products and add the discount 

⚠️ You can add a maximum of 3 upsell products per upsell. Choose products that are genuinely complementary to the trigger product — relevant recommendations convert significantly better than unrelated ones.

Step 4 – Customize the Theme & Design

Customize how the upsell widget looks on your storefront. Choose from 3 available layouts:

✅ Check the Live Preview on the right as you make changes — it updates once you select your trigger and upsell products. Click Save when done.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How is this different from the bundles and quantity offers?

Bundles and Quantity Offers are structured discount offers — the customer selects a tier or combination and gets a price reduction. Upsells are product recommendations shown on the product page to suggest related items. Upsells can work alongside your bundles to maximize AOV at every stage of the customer journey.

2. Can I add more than 3 upsell products?

No — the maximum is 3 upsell products per upsell. This keeps the widget focused and prevents overwhelming the customer. If you have more products to recommend, create a separate upsell with a different trigger product.

3. Can the same product be a trigger and an upsell product at the same time?

We recommend keeping them separate. The trigger is the product the customer is already viewing — the upsell products should be complementary items, not the same product.

4. Will the upsell widget show if I have no active bundles on that product?

Yes. Upsells are independent from bundles and quantity offers. They will show on the trigger product page regardless of whether a bundle is also active on that page.

5. My upsell widget isn't showing on the product page. What should I check?

Confirm that the Theme App Embed is enabled and the Bundle & Quantity Breaks block has been added to your product page template in the Shopify Theme Editor. Both are required for any widget — including upsells — to appear on your storefront. See the Theme Setup article for instructions.
