How to Enable the Facebook Conversions API in Releasit.
The Facebook Conversions API (CAPI) allows you to send purchase and event data directly from your server to Facebook, improving tracking accuracy and attribution. This is particularly useful for Cash on Delivery (COD) orders, where traditional tracking methods may not capture all events correctly.
This guide explains how to enable and configure the Facebook Conversions API in the Releasit app, and how to confirm that everything is working correctly.
Step 1: Create a Facebook Pixel in Meta Events Manager
If you already have a Pixel, skip to Step 2.
- Go to Meta Events Manager.
- If you don't have a business asset set up yet, create one first.
- Click Connect data to get started.

- A popup will appear asking you to select a data source. Select Web and click Next.

- Select Create New Dataset, give it a name, and click Create.

- Wait for the dataset to be created.
- Once ready, Meta will prompt you to set up your Pixel. Select Send instructions to developer if you want to share the setup with a technical partner, or follow the on-screen steps to complete the setup.

- Once the Pixel is created, you'll see your Pixel ID on screen. Copy it — you'll need it in the next steps.

Step 2: Open the Analytics Settings in Releasit
- Open the Releasit app.
- Go to the Settings & Integrations section.
- Navigate to the Pixels page.
Step 3: Add the Facebook Conversions API
- Click Add Item to open the list of available tracking integrations.
- Select Facebook Conversions API from the options.

Step 4: Generate an Access Token for Your Facebook Pixel
To connect Releasit to the Facebook Conversions API, you need an access token from your Facebook Business Manager.
- Open Facebook Business Manager.
- Navigate to Events Manager.
- Select your Facebook Pixel.
- Generate an Access Token for your pixel.
Watch this tutorial on how to generate an access token:
Step 5: Enter Your Pixel ID and Access Token in Releasit
- Copy your Pixel ID and Access Token from Facebook.
- Go back to the Releasit app.
- Paste both values into the corresponding fields.
- Click Save to complete the setup.
Once saved, you'll see a green confirmation message: "Test event fired from Releasit. Open Meta Events Manager to verify it was received."

Step 6: Verify That Facebook CAPI is Working
The easiest way to confirm your events are set up correctly is by using Meta's Test Events tool inside Events Manager.
- In Events Manager, go to Datasets and select your Pixel.
- Click on the Test events tab.
- Under Confirm your website's events are set up correctly, enter your store URL and click Test Events.

- A new window will open your store. Browse it as a test customer: visit a product page, add an item to the cart, and start checkout. You should see each event (Page View, Initiate Checkout) appear in real time in the Test Events panel.
- We also recommend installing the Meta Pixel Helper, a free Chrome extension that shows whether your Pixel is active while browsing your store.

- Once you complete a test purchase, go back to the Test Events tab. You should see all events received listed in real time, including Initiate Checkout and PageView, confirming the Pixel is firing correctly.

- If events are not appearing, double check that your Pixel ID and Access Token were entered correctly in Releasit, and that your Pixel is active in Meta Business Manager.
Why Use the Facebook Conversions API?
- Improves tracking accuracy by sending data directly from the server.
- Reduces reliance on browser cookies, which may be blocked by privacy settings.
- Ensures better attribution for COD orders that may not be tracked properly by standard pixels.
