# How to Find the IP Address of a Customer in Shopify

Knowing a customer’s IP address can help with fraud detection, location-based analysis, and troubleshooting orders. Shopify logs the IP address of every order, including those placed through the Releasit COD Form.

This guide will walk you through how to locate the IP address of a customer from an order in Shopify.

### Step 1: Open the Order in Shopify

1. Log in to your **Shopify Admin** Panel.
2. Navigate to **Orders**.
3. Locate and click on the order placed via the Releasit COD Form.

### Step 2: Find the Customer’s IP Address

1. Scroll down to the **Additional Details** section on the order page.
2. Look for the **IP Address** field.

###### Now you have the customer’s IP address, which you can use for:

* **Fraud detection** – Identify suspicious orders by checking if multiple orders come from the same IP.
