How to Integrate Klaviyo with Releasit to Recover Abandoned Orders via Email

This tutorial will guide you through the process of integrating the Releasit Cash on Delivery (COD) app with Klaviyo so you can send automated recovery emails for abandoned orders. This integration allows you to trigger custom email flows using the Releasit abandoned order event.

⚠️ Important Note:
This is an advanced setup involving a third-party service (Klaviyo). Releasit support cannot assist with Klaviyo configurations. Please follow each step carefully and refer to Klaviyo’s documentation or support for help with their platform.

Step 1: Install Klaviyo and Create an Account

Go to the Klaviyo app page on the Shopify App Store.
Click Add App and follow the prompts to install Klaviyo and create your account.

Step 2: Generate an API Key in Klaviyo

Open your Klaviyo dashboard.
In the bottom-left corner, click your account name and go to Integrations.

Navigate to Developer Tools > Manage API Keys.

Click Create Private API Key.
Use the recommended settings and click Create.

Step 3: Add Your API Key to Releasit

Open the Releasit app.
Go to Sales Booster > Abandoned Cart.
Paste your Klaviyo API key into the appropriate field

Click Save, then click Send test event to test the connection.

Wait 10–15 minutes for Klaviyo to process the test event.

Step 4: Create an Abandoned Order Flow in Klaviyo

Go to Flows in your Klaviyo dashboard.
Click Create Flow > Create from Scratch.
Name your flow and click Create.

Step 5: Set the Trigger for the Flow

Choose Metric as your trigger type.
Select Releasit Abandoned Order as the trigger.

Step 6: Create and Customize Your Email

Drag an Email block into your flow.
Click the block and choose Configure Content.

Choose the Drag and Drop Editor, select a template, and click Use Template.

Customize the email content based on your branding and messaging.
In your call-to-action button (e.g., "Complete Order"), set the button link URL to:

{{ event.recovery_url }}

This will bring the customer back to the form they abandoned.

Final Notes

You can adjust the flow timing and add multiple emails if needed, but we recommend keeping the flow simple for better performance.
Releasit will automatically send the abandoned order data to Klaviyo when a customer leaves the form without submitting an order.
