How to Remove an Active Payment Customization in Shopify to Enable Releasit Configuration

If you're using Releasit and need to apply a payment customization but already have one active in your Shopify settings, you must first remove the existing customization. Shopify only allows one active payment customization at a time. Follow the steps below to deactivate any payment customization you’re not currently using so Releasit can apply its own configuration.

⚠️ Important: Make sure to deactivate a payment customization that you are not currently relying on. Removing an active customization may affect how payment options are displayed on your store.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open Your Shopify Payments Settings

From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments

Scroll to the Payment customizations section at the bottom of the page

Step 2: Manage Your Customizations

Click the Manage button next to the "*Payment customizations**" section to view your existing configurations.

Step 3: Deactivate an Existing Customization

Select the payment customization that is currently active and no longer needed

Click Deactivate to remove it

Step 4: Refresh Releasit

After deactivating the customization, return to the Releasit tab in your browser and refresh the page to apply the necessary changes.
