How to Remove an Active Payment Customization in Shopify to Use Releasit
If your Shopify store already has an active payment customization, you may need to remove one to allow the Releasit app to apply its own configuration. Shopify currently allows only one active payment customization at a time.
This tutorial will guide you through the process of removing an unused payment customization in your store.
⚠️ Important: Before proceeding, confirm that the customization you're removing is not critical to your store's checkout. You should only deactivate customizations that are no longer in use or required.
Go to Your Shopify Payment Settings
Open your Shopify Admin and navigate to Settings > Payments.
Then scroll to the bottom of the page where the Payment customizations section appears.
Open the Payment Customization Manager
Click the Manage button in the Payment customizations section.
Deactivate a Customization
From the list of existing customizations, select the one you want to deactivate. Then click Deactivate.
Make sure this is a customization that you're not actively using in your checkout process.
Return to Releasit
After you deactivate the customization, return to your Releasit browser tab and reload the page. The app should now be able to apply its own payment customization.
