Order Editing Limitations for Releasit COD Orders

Shopify currently limits order editing to orders created through the standard Shopify checkout. This means that orders placed using the Releasit Cash on Delivery (COD) form cannot be edited directly within Shopify.

Why Editing Is Not Available for COD Orders

Orders from the Releasit COD form are processed outside of Shopify’s native checkout system. As a result, Shopify does not allow direct modifications to these orders (e.g., changing quantities, customer information, or line items) through its built-in order editing tools.

How to Edit a COD Order

Although direct editing is not supported, you can still modify an order by duplicating it and replacing the original. Here's the process:

Duplicate the existing order.
Edit the draft order as needed.
Convert the draft into a new order.
Cancel or delete the original order.

Final Notes

We understand this isn’t the most convenient approach, but due to Shopify’s restrictions on non-checkout orders, this is currently the only available workaround.

If you need help going through the process or have questions, feel free to reach out to Releasit Support from the app.
