Understanding How Sessions Work in Google Autocomplete

When using Google Autocomplete in your Releasit form, it’s important to understand how sessions work and how they’re billed.

A Google Autocomplete session refers to a single interaction that begins when a customer starts typing their address and ends when they select a suggestion. Google defines this as a session token window, which is detailed in their official documentation.

When Does a Session Start?

A session begins the moment a customer types into the address field on your form.

As the customer continues typing, Google provides a list of suggested addresses. This entire interaction—from the first keystroke until selection—is part of the same session.

When Does a Session End?

The session ends when the customer clicks on one of the address suggestions provided by Google.

Cost of a Session

Each session is billed at $0.020. This cost is only charged when a customer completes a session by selecting a suggested address. If they start typing but never select a suggestion, the session is not completed and may not be billed.
