How to Remove the Leading Zero from Phone Numbers in Releasit

When customers enter their phone numbers in the Releasit COD Form, they might include a leading zero at the beginning. While this does not affect order processing, some merchants prefer to remove the extra zero for consistency and integration with shipping providers or CRM systems.

Releasit provides an option to automatically remove the leading zero from phone numbers entered by customers. This guide explains how to enable this setting.

Why Remove the Leading Zero?



Prevents formatting issues when exporting customer data.
Ensures compatibility with third-party shipping providers that require standardized phone numbers.
Keeps phone numbers consistent across your store and backend systems.



Step 1: Open the Releasit App



Log in to your Shopify Admin Panel.
Open the Releasit COD Form & Upsells app.



Step 2: Enable the Option to Remove the Leading Zero



Navigate to the Settings & Integrations page.
Scroll down to the General section.
Enable the option to Remove Leading Zero from Phone Numbers.






Click Save to apply the changes.



Step 3: Test the Setting



Open your store’s checkout page and enter a phone number starting with 0.
Complete a test order.
Check the order details in Shopify— the leading zero should be removed.
