How to Set Up Releasit Using the Onboarding Guide

The onboarding guide walks you through the initial configuration of your Cash on Delivery form step by step. It appears automatically when you first install the app, and can be relaunched at any time from the app settings.

Step 1: Activate the App

The first thing you need to do is activate Releasit on your Shopify theme. This only needs to be done once and takes less than 30 seconds.

1. Click 'Open theme editor' — Shopify will open in a new tab.
2. Find Releasit COD Form under App embeds and toggle it on.
3. Click Save in Shopify.

Once done, Releasit detects the activation automatically. You'll see a green message confirming 'Embed detected, all good'.

• Click Continue.

💡 The onboarding guide also auto-detects your store language. You can change it from the selector in the top right corner if needed.

Step 2: Markets & Shipping

Here you'll tell Releasit where you sell and how much you charge for shipping.

1. Confirm your country of sale — Releasit pulls this automatically from Shopify. Click 'Change' if it's incorrect.
2. If you sell in multiple countries, enable the 'Do you sell in multiple countries?' toggle.
3. If you have an affiliate code, enter it to unlock your community's coverage settings. If not, select 'No, use default coverage'.
4. Set up your shipping rates — import them from Shopify or add new ones manually.

⚠️ At least one shipping rate is required for orders to process correctly.

• Click Continue when ready.

Step 3: Customize & Publish

This is where you design your COD form.

1. Choose your form type: Pop-up, Embedded, or Responsive.
2. Select a shape and style that fits your brand — changes appear live in the preview on the right.
3. Under Form fields, toggle on or off the fields you want to show. Required fields are marked in blue. Reorder them by dragging in the live preview.
4. Customize your buy button text and color.
5. Adjust the form background colors to match your store.

• When you're happy with the design, click 'Publish form'. Your COD form is now live!

Post-Setup: Recommended Steps

After publishing your form, the onboarding guide will walk you through a few additional recommended steps to get the most out of Releasit.

OTP Phone Verification

Reduce fake orders by sending a one-time verification code to your customer's phone before they complete the order.

1. Enable OTP Phone Verification.
2. Choose your delivery channel: WhatsApp + SMS fallback (recommended), WhatsApp only, or SMS only.
3. Click 'Save configuration to enable the test' and send a test code to your own phone to verify it works.

Quantity Offers

1. Give your offer a name and select the products it applies to.

3. Choose a color palette that matches your store.

Tracking Pixels

Shopify's native pixels don't fire for COD orders. Connecting your pixels here ensures Meta, TikTok, and Google correctly attribute your COD sales.

1. Select the platforms you advertise on: Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads, or add a different one.
2. Click 'Save and continue'.
