Releasit COD now supports multiple currencies
We are excited to announce that our app now supports multi-currency! Your Releasit COD form can now automatically display prices in the customer's local currency🎉.
⚠️ Note: Multi-currency via Shopify Markets is supported only in the V2 form. The Legacy version still requires the three apps listed in the old guide.
How to set it up:
To enable multi-currency selling, you must configure your regions within Shopify Markets. This is Shopify’s official tool for international sales, and it controls which currency is displayed to customers based on their specific region.
Important Note on Checkout & Payments
For the selected currency to carry through to the final order, please keep the following in mind:
- Shopify Payments: You must have Shopify Payments enabled. This allows the order to be created and recorded in the customer's selected currency.
- Order Currency: Once enabled, if a customer chooses a currency different from your store's default, your order will be created inside Shopify in that specific currency.
- Default Currency Fallback: If Shopify Payments is not enabled, Shopify's API requires the order to be created in your store’s default currency. In this case, the customer will see the converted price on the COD form for convenience, but the final order in your admin will show your base currency.
Price Logic & Discounts
Please note how price manipulations are handled when using multiple currencies:
- Fixed Value Adjustments: Any fixed-price configurations (such as fixed discounts inside upsells, quantity offers, or shipping rates) are automatically converted from your store's default currency to the customer's selected currency based on your Shopify conversion rates.
- Percentage Discounts: All percentage-based discounts will be calculated directly based on the price value in the customer's active currency.
