Set Up Partial Payments in the COD Fee & OTP Verify App

Partial Payments allow you to collect a portion of the order total upfront while the remaining amount is paid on delivery. This helps reduce COD risk and increases order commitment from customers.

This tutorial explains how to enable, configure, and display Partial Payments in the COD Fee & OTP Verify app, step by step.

⚠️ Important note ⚠️ :

• When a customer clicks the Buy Now / Proceed to Checkout button, a modal will be shown explaining the Partial Payment split (upfront amount and remaining COD balance).
• If your store offers multiple payment methods, you must also have a 100% prepaid option available (created and enabled), so customers can complete checkout using a fully prepaid payment method if they choose.

Step 1: Enable the App

Before configuring Partial Payments, make sure that the COD Fee & OTP Verify app is enabled in your store.

If the app is disabled, none of the checkout features will be visible to customers.

Step 2: Add the Partial Payment Info Block to Checkout

To display Partial Payment information during checkout:

1. Go to Team Edit
2. Select Checkout
3. Add the Partial Payment Info block

Best practice:

We recommend placing the Partial Payment Info block as the last component on the checkout page, so customers clearly see the payment breakdown before completing their order.

Optional: Add the Block to the Thank You Page too

You can also add the Partial Payment Info block yo the Thank you page, if you prefer the partial payment info to be shown there too.

Step 3: Configure Partial Payments

1. Open the Partial Payment section in the app, set the Partial Payment percentage or amount
2. Configure the percentage or amount of the partial payment.

3. Define any restrictions, if needed. Here you can specify if the partial payments apply just to certain products or collections.

4. Design your partial payment panel as you like

By enabling Partial Payments in the COD Fee & OTP Verify app, you can:

• Reduce failed or fake COD orders
• Increase customer commitment
• Provide a clear and transparent checkout experience

Once enabled, Partial Payments work automatically based on your configuration and are displayed directly in checkout.
