Cómo agregar una tarifa de pago contra reembolso (COD) por separado al formulario COD

Adding a separate COD fee allows you to charge customers an additional amount when they choose Cash on Delivery (COD) as their payment method. This fee can help cover the extra costs associated with handling COD orders, such as courier service charges. This guide explains how to enable and configure the COD fee in the Releasit COD Form & Upsells app.

Step 1: Enable the COD Fee in the App

Open the Releasit app.
Navigate to the Settings & Integrations page.
Click on the General section.
Locate the option to enable a separate COD fee and activate it.

Step 2: Understanding How the COD Fee Works

The COD fee is applied only to orders selecting Cash on Delivery as the payment method.
This fee is added separately in the order summary so customers can see it before checkout.
The fee amount can be customized based on your business needs and courier charges.

Step 3: Verify the COD Fee on the Checkout Form

After enabling the fee, open your store’s checkout page.
Select Cash on Delivery (COD) as the payment option.
Check that the additional COD fee is correctly displayed in the order total.
If the fee does not appear, refresh the page or review the app settings again.

Why Add a COD Fee?

Covers Additional Handling Costs: Helps offset extra costs charged by couriers for COD orders.
Encourages Online Payments: Can encourage customers to choose online payment methods, reducing the risk of order cancellations.
Filters Serious Buyers: Discourages unnecessary COD selections, ensuring that only committed customers choose COD.
